Yeah the beach party may be the thing this time.

Well, not sure I'll be a part to the beach party as it's not that easy to walk on the beach nor to be seated on the floor  Never cool to be disabled

Nice. I stayed there after the first cruise and there were a couple of metalheads but it was mostly the clubber crowd. Didn't really matter too much since I was so damn tired after the cruise and wandering around Miami Beach all day waiting to check in that I pretty much just plopped down on the bed and woke up 11 hours later.

On crutches (saw you post that in another thread) it probably wouldn't be too much trouble. The first year we were down by the water but last year it was up close to the access road used by the beach patrol. You would probably have more trouble navigating the sidewalk cafes on Ocean Dr.

    Aussie gold!

I only just lobbed in that afternoon last year & missed the beach party and that's probably the only regret about last years trip.
I'll be in a day earlier next year and am looking forward to it :D

According to the informations on the website, you shouldn't have any problem to have a flight at 4pm, as we have to leave the ship enough early.

So, hostels are a good option? You don't have to worry about your things being stolen?

I booked at the Holiday Inn Port Of Miami, but it isn't cheap. I prefer to book in this one as I'm member of the Priority Club. But also because I still choose some accessible hotels.

For the ones of you who also booked at the Holiday Inn, do we plan to meet each other on the Friday evening for a drink at the hotel's bar? Everyone is welcome, or course :beerbang:

Many hostels have safes in the rooms for personal stuff. I've never had something stolen from a hostel but you never know.

I will be at the Cay hotel
    1438 Washington Avenue, South Beach
    Miami Beach

I''m alone but it's a room for 2 so if someone looks after a hotel, we can spare my room
not too expensive, 176 $ + taxes from 26/01/13 to 28/01/2013 so for 2 nights

For the ones of you who also booked at the Holiday Inn, do we plan to meet each other on the Friday evening for a drink at the hotel's bar? Everyone is welcome, or course :beerbang:

    Hell yeah :heavydrink:

Markku and everyone who will be at the Holiday Inn Port of Miami on the Friday 25th January, I'm landing at the Miami airport at 5:46 pm, so, the time to claim my bagage, to find a taxi and reach the hotel, I should be there at around 7pm I think. So, I'll join you at the hotel's bar as soon I'll have done the check in and brought my bagage to my room. You should easily recognize me as I'm very short with crutches

As I don't know where is the salsa bar, I think that would be great if you all wait for me at our hotel bar and once I'll be back from my room, we could go together to the salsa bar, if it's ok for you

Rooms are up to $217/night. Interconinental starts at $377/night. Do you think they jack prices around 70k dates??

Maybe something else is happening there, like some major sportsball event, or a tweenbop concert or something.
