So far I'm singing Heidvolk with Tim at some point and perhaps cheesy (hopefully not too cheesy - it is METAL karaoke after all) of a duet with last_candle (if your still game I presume?) anyone down for singing Pursuit of Vikings with me? Or Hold the Heathen Hammer High? Or Vodka by Korpiklanni (how fun would that be?) and a few classic rock ones that are karaoke staples - you always need a group to sing Bohemian Rhapsody. Always. I will be very disappointed if this does not happen/or I do not partake in it.

Will probably pull out Alice Cooper - Frankenstein and perhaps Kiss - Strutter. I effing love that they are going to have karaoke on this cruise. So damn much. :viking:

    Karoke for this year

    by SatansWrath » Thu May 26, 2011 2:50 am

Well shit ...I was wondering if this years karoke could have some more METAL songs its still 70k of metal so why not? I dont mind people singing lady gaga britney spears or other gay songs its just plain fun.

But I would love to sing some Vader, Behemoth, Dimmu Borgir, Amon Amarth, finntroll, Korpiklaani, Dark TYranquillity ETC ETC.
Or why not having for example 5 songs of every band who was on the cruise last year ?

What do you guys think ?

    :viking:

Pissed of whishlist for the cruises:
Turisas, Behemoth, Dimmu Borgir, Dalriada, Motorhead, Vader, Arch Enemy, Abinchova, Northland, Sear Bliss, Watain, Slayer, Raubtier, Immortal, Xandria, Fear Factory, Rammstein, Running Wild

To me singing metal songs on a metal cruise is pointless. Heck, I don't ever want to hear people butcher music I like. The last thing I need is to hear some drunk fool try and do Dio or Iron Maiden. Image

I'm a believer in that you pick the silliest and most UN METAL songs you can for karaoke. It makes it funnier and more enjoyable. Plus if I'm listening to metal for 4 days, I want some kind of change of pace.

So bring on the Billy Ocean, Pointer Sisters, Glorida Gaynor and Journey songs :headbanger: :headbanger: :headbanger:

I'm with the Viceroy of Vegemite on this one.

Drunk metal people singing (often poorly) disco, funk, R&B, pop tunes is waaay better than listening to drunk metal people singing / growling ( also very poorly ) metal songs.

In my world, Karaoke is for fun and amusement, not "Metal Idol" auditions.

I don't really mind either way, karaoke is fun and it will be fun metal or no metal. Wouldn't hurt to throw in a couple anthems like Rainbow In The Dark for everyone to sing along, but it's also fun to see people scream Oops I Did It Again (COB?)

If you format your signature like mine, you can have unlimited characters in your sig due to a little exploit I found. Only downside is that it looks like shit. Spaces stop the exploit from working, so you need to improvise with other characters. But I can fit all of my wishlist bands in it... :P

If, somehow, the cruise can get Snow's "Informer", I will definitely perform and make all the panties fly off your women.

I did it for a talent show in 7th grade -- and won -- and I still remember all the lyrics 12 years later.

The first song that came to my mind for a Disney duet was a Whole New World. That was super popular when I was in 3rd grade. I remember feeling so superior singing that with my class chorus while the 2nd graders had to do a rap about recycling.

I think the Karaoke is fine the way they had it.

I don't think a lot of us would have a lot of fun if we watched people poorly perform some of our favourite metal songs.
The whole idea of performing songs we don't really listen to from different genres of music makes it for a good time to just be goofy and make people laugh.

It's a break from all the metal around us to laugh and make others laugh. Plus they had some classic rock songs that some people decided to do and did an awesome job.

You all, are just too funny!
    Why don't you all just start with M I C K E Y M O U S E (The Mickey Mouse Club Song) and go on from there.
See if somebody can get the entire room to sing that song (Hint Hint, say like Kevin) :D :D :D . LOL

David the kareoke DJ from last year is working on getting a link to his website set up on here and on the 70000 main site for people to go and make song suggestions. Possible plans for one book being all metal songs then the regular book like he had last year. :beerwink:

That is an awesome song to get stuck in your head.

As for the avatar change, I was tired of staring at myself and my girlfriend. Figured going back to Uncle Jesse was the smartest way to go.

My other go-to karaoke song is Cherry Poppin' Daddies 'Zoot Suit Riot'. I did this quite a few times last year at the bar and always suited-up (and I'm a fantastic singer. And modest.). I maaaaaaay bring a suit on broad this year just to be a douche and if I do, I am totally doing that song.

To me singing metal songs on a metal cruise is pointless. Heck, I don't ever want to hear people butcher music I like. The last thing I need is to hear some drunk fool try and do Dio or Iron Maiden. Image

I'd never thought of it quite like that but your so right. I've only done karoke once and that was "summer of 69" in Hawaii
This ship needs more gothic, symphonic, female fronted bands, but I can handle some THRASH!!!

I know all the words to way too many Disney songs  I will DEFINITELY do a Disney karaoke duet/trio/quartet/whatever with someone (provided I've had enough to drink to get over my stage fright )
