    Metal merch vendors

by Captain Metal » Wed Mar 17, 2010 6:04 am

This is something that came to mind and hasn't really been brought up around here yet. Will there be any vendors selling metal merch, aside from each bands own goodies? And if so, will this be located in a specific area of the ship or in various locations?

There will be! On the other themed cruise I was on, bands put promo goodies in bags on our cabin doors and there were event shirts as well as individual band shirts.

Band and Festival Merchandise will be available in the Shops on Deck 5 and possibly one other location on the ship.

Space is limited and the Cruise Line is in charge of selling, therefore there will be no individual vendors.

We are currently discussing if it is possible to have some tattoo artists on board.

Would be fucking cool to get a tatoo on the cruise.
And based on what you just said then there will be no merch stalls except for the ones selling merch from bands playing then?

Having tattoo artists on board is a fantastic idea. Just finding the time between/during bands would be difficult. Still a great idea though!

I'm loving the tattoo artist idea, though every penny we can save from now until then will probably go to merch, booze, booze, merch, booze, booze, and merch.

I would love to get a tattoo on board, as long as they're a bit more skilled than the person who did the one tattoo I have currently...

Depending on who you ask, it's either a radish or a strawberry. Not what I had intended.

Same here! Although Mark from Epica may insist that it's his signature I get tattooed like he did last month in Canada, and only because I have another artist's signature tattooed on me. Haha.

I could be wrong, but as far as I know they wouldn't be allowed to. I know most cruise ships won't even do anything in the spa's that involve cutting your skin. So I would have to guess needles getting injected into your flesh wouldn't be the smartest thing to do on a moving vessel.

It'd actually be a pretty bad idea to get a tatoo on a moving ship, but who cares? The point is having a permanent memory from the experience ;)

The question is: What to tatoo?

Such a vessel is huge and the Caribbean is very calm at that time of the year. The ship's movements are very slow if at all, so I don't know how much of a problem that would be. But hey, what the fuck do I know? :trashdrink:

I wouldn't anticipate any sudden, jarring movements that would affect a tattooist with a steady hand. Sea-sickness on the other hand... :?

Since the cruise line is in charge of selling, I assume we are going to get the typical inflated gift shop prices ???

I like to buy CD's at shows as I feel the band are getting a bigger cut of the pie that way. But not sure if that would be the case here :?

to all those worried about getting a tat on a "moving" ship; Unless there is a storm about cruise ships are incredibly well stabilized and the motion is barely perceptible. In fact, unless you are near a window or outside it's tough to tell that you are floating at all, so, get your art, no worries.

From what I've heard, you can't even feel the ship moving unless ya run into something or encounter a major storm.
