Was great hanging out with you at Archon Angel, Kampfar, and Ereb Altor!
70k needs to consider a 6 day 5 night cruise, the bigger ships only have a few 4 day slots in their long term schedule. And this year was a great example, they could have done it a few other times but I think this was the only 4 night slot they could have taken. Also with people coming days in advance;I can’t see how costs would be an issue for most cruisers.Plus you now have a core base of “cruisers “ so they would probably like it.
Right back at ya!!! Was awesomeJotunheimr wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2020 10:48 amWas great hanging out with you at Archon Angel, Kampfar, and Ereb Altor!
Superbowl is the 7th of February though and Indy has a booking already for Feb 4 to Feb 8 which would be a "return to normal".JamieS wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2020 2:23 pm To toss out some idle speculation, Independence doesn't have bookable cruises Jan 16-Feb 4, so back to the Indy late Jan or early Feb?

That doesn’t matter, when 70k switched to the bigger ship in 2015 ;it was already taking passengers for the 70k date. Those people got their cruise cancelled and a credit ($200?) for a future cruise.JamieS wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2020 2:23 pm To toss out some idle speculation, Independence doesn't have bookable cruises Jan 16-Feb 4, so back to the Indy late Jan or early Feb?

Certainly a highlight was Simone of Epica handing your son that last Epica cruise shirt!
Sorry to hear that mate!
I have a recording that i recorded with messenger on my phone that i am trying to get so that i can publish....stay tuned! gotta sort this out as it isn't apparently straightforward.
I have a recording but I was on deck 12, so all you can hear is wind. He gave some speech about the idea/wheels in motion started 12 years ago and lots of people laughed and didn't believe him, but some did. Basically the key points I came away with were, 71 countries represented, next year is the 10th anniversary and it's going to somewhere in Jamaica, sometime.
For a cruise as expensive as this one, I always care about the destination. What I really like doing is exploring new places, in that sense I have to admit Cozumel was fine because we had the freedom to explore, unlike Labadee where you are confined to that private beach (worst place so far). In Cozumel I managed to drive around the island but I was expecting more from its beaches. Grand Turk was absolutely amazing, I wouldn't mind going there every year unless there is a similar place in the Caribbean.
Is it worse than Labedee? I hear a lot of negative opinions about Jamaica
can it be worst than Cozumel , to me it seemed like the worst destination this time of the three times I have gone on the cruise !
I second this! Even though I don't have to deal with flights, I'm planning to go to Australia early-mid January and I'd like to not have to worry about any conflicts.cowboy71 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2020 4:38 pm One request skipper - PLEASE try and return us to our 'usual' time of year of end January / early February.
Even with the superbowl in Miami, I could currently get a return flight to FLL in a few weeks for $1,100.
Cost me $1.5k each JUST to get to LAX this round due to it being peak holiday period :O
AGREED!
I can't wait to file my taxes this year, I'm like ned flanders "January 1st, better get going on those taxes, Neddie"cowboy71 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2020 9:09 pmAGREED!
Not toooo early mind. Returning to early July booking like we've had previously would be ideal for me (and probably most Aussie cruisers!) as our financial year ends June 30 so if we submit our tax returns on time we get our refunds back early July :) Perfect for paying 70K deposits with!
I'll take Labadee any time over Jamaica. Jamaica is the absolute worst, especially Falmouth. Not sure whats so great about Turks, I thought it sucked. I've pretty much gotten off the boat and got right back on every time. I probably won't bother at all in Jamaica next year.
YOU TAKE THAT BACK! Grand Turk is one of my favorite places in the world!Razor Ramon wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2020 8:24 pmI'll take Labadee any time over Jamaica. Jamaica is a shithole. Assuming it's Falmouth and not Ocho Rios, I won't bother either. The only thing Falmouth got for me was an, ahem, "tobacco" pipe...Gollum from LOTR (but he's happy, so it's actually Sméagol), with the pipe sticking out of his skinny back. Yep, pretty weird. Not sure why he was so happy; seems like having a pipe stuck through your back would be kinda painful. Couldn't resist getting THAT.I probably won't bother at all in Jamaica next year.
