    Band Visa's

    by Chopper » Sat May 22, 2010 12:09 pm

I have been informed the bands do not need work visas because the concert is at sea. Unless I was misinformed maybe someone can clarify this better.

So, to the concerned wondering if bands will cancel due to this, should be rest assured they should not cancel due to work visa issues. Unless they come from countries requiring a tourist visa.

Bands still need visas to enter the states and can also be refused if they are suspected to be playing gigs in America but don't have a permit to play despite them not needing one ;)

I really am not too concerned with it. A band plays, they play. They cancel, they cancel. Its all in the fine print of our booking confirmation that there could be cancellations and I am sure there very well will be.

Realistically it's the same situation as any festival.Wheter one needs a visa or not. There will always be something that stops some band playing.Seems to be more frequent these days.

Yeah, just an unfortunate fact of life that shit happens and will continue to do so. Over the years, I've just gotten used to the fact that a small % of scheduled shows will be canceled because some artist or crew member tried to get something across the border and failed or somebody's past caught up to them and they were denied entry. Typically, about 40% of the major tours that travel all the way to Seattle just don't bother with Vancouver because they either can't get over the border or don't want to deal with the headaches involved. So far at least, 2011, 2012 & 2015 were enough for me
