Well, needless to say (but I will anyways), the first season was fucking brilliant.

Here's a hugely amusing video for those that have watched the series....

That was brilliant. I'm surprised that was the only online edit I've seen so far.

Me too, actually. Joffrey turned out to be the bastard I was expecting him to be after all. Too bad my father wasn't around. I bet he would have enjoyed naked Daenerys at the end of the episode. Still, he probably got his fill of it on Fathers Day. Ever since I got my mother into the books, the two of us can't seem to stop talking about it.

Good point. I wonder if it will be available for download as well. My bookshelf is out of space, so I hope I won't have to wait too long.

    Yeah I've started (It's awesome)

The storyline follows along simultaneously to AFFC, so all the events happening here are following what happens in ASOS, except with the focus being with the characters in the north and across the seas.

Eventually it extends past feast for crows - haven't gotten to that yet though.

Was soooo scared to open this thread for spoilers!

I'm about 500 pages into Dance With Dragons so far, and it's not a disappointment. I'm curious to see if he takes Dany and her dragons to Valyria. So far I am not disappointed. It's been a long, long wait on this book and it falls in line with the previous four. Brutal, treacherous, and perfectly written.

    SPOILER

I'm still wondering who is going to be the three heads of the Targaryan dragon. Dany, obviously. But I still think the other two are going to be Tyrion and Jon Snow. Bran's story keeps getting better and better. The world's last greenseer? I'll take it.

    SPOILER, GUYS

I was originally thinking Jon Snow... but his recent hard character turn has had me thinking Bran instead. ("Bran, you will never walk again.... but you will fly")

Tyrion for sure. What a guy!

Anyone see this week's episode (#501 I think) of the Simpsons?

Couch gag at the beginning was total take off of Game of Thrones intro. Very nicely done

Enjoy it before it gets removed :headbanger:

I wanna read the books so badly now, but at the moment I don't have the money to buy them, and I have some other books that I really want to finish too, so it has to wait for a while :P

That's the big problem with Game of Thrones, both the books and the series: Once you get to the end, it takes forever to find something good enough to replace them until the next book/season comes out.

I chose to appeal to my inner-weaboo and read a bunch of Japanese history stuff until the next book. It works well enough. One guy sliced open his stomach in a burning building so he could protect his lord's family plaque inside his belly while the castle burned down around him.

By the way, there's something I always wanted to ask those of you who only saw the series:
How easy is it to follow? Whenever I'm watching it with someone else, I'm always thinking, "Oh no! They're not explaining it well enough. He won't get what's going on. I have to explain it to him."

If it's any help I watched one episode, which was like 4 or 5 in and I had absolutely no idea what was going on. Like seriously my description would have been "a bunch of random shit happened and there was a midget".

That definitely makes sense. You really have to start at the beginning to have a chance at knowing what's going on. So many things happening in so many places, and so much conspiring.

Haha, well the first episode probably might be a bit confusing etc. But I haven't read the books, and I understand everything perfectly :)
But some matters took a few episodes for me to really understand them, but it's all clear.
