When I was younger, my father and stepmother always made me read these stupid freaking "etiquette" books... seriously. Not a joke. I fucking hated writing thank you notes. I thought it was stupid.

Now, I am so glad I did, because now I actually have someone that I honestly feel like thanking! They would prolly be mortified to know that I am using their teachings for METAL!! Muahahahahahaaaaa!!!!

Oh and BTW. I don't know if y'all filled out those survey cards in the cabins and turned them in or not. I am almost positive I didn't do it last year, but this year I made sure to fill it out and drop it off. I was told that the room attendants lively-hoods rely very heavily on those surveys. My room attendant practically begged me to fill out it and make sure to turn it in myself. They do not count it if you just leave it in the room because the attendants can just fill it out themselves. There was a special drop-box for them by guest services.

*** my room attendant fill beer bucket with ice every day! so nice to get up from a nap and have cold beer waiting for me!

There was also a drop box on the way out of the ship, just outside the dining room that the line went through. Where did you get a survey card? I don't recall seeing one.

I didn't see one either, but I would have filled it out as well. I have heard that they aren't paid well and I imagine it is quite difficult to live in cramped quarters catering to other people's needs for months on end. I thought the service was very good and my room attendant was very helpful when I managed to leave without my seapass. Brilliant, I know.

Yeah technically the link is for a post-cruise complaining/comments. You don't actually have to thank them, but that's what I did. I thought RC staff was awesome. But Kevin is right.... whether it's RC or UMC, complaints will keep them on their toes. But I definitely made mention of the "little" people like my room attendant and my favorite server. Those people work hard, get paid very little and they deserve a little recognition, no matter how small, for making my trip that much more enjoyable. It's not like I thanked the captain for not sinking the ship, but maybe it wouldn't hurt to mention that as well.

I remember agreeing with you on this matter over a week ago on FB with you. I just wanted to say, that I'm all for supporting the little guy. He needs our help!

I want to formally thank Royal Caribbean for not knowing how to fix a broken cabin lock!
My wife was locked in the cabin for almost 3 hours Thursday night while I waited out in the hall watching
the maintenance crew drill hole after hole in the lock cover and then finally breaking in to the cabin
with a crowbar! I missed 3 bands, and was offered a bottle of wine by the front desk lady.

I sent them thanks note every previous cruises but not this time. They got a complaint list this morning.
Room attendant was messing up, aslo with minibar which we did NOT use at all.
Boleros waiter took an order & card and disapeard. We had to ask around and found our card on one of the side bars.
etc, etc - I don't feel like complaing & bitching now. Will do it soon.

I have to agree with Mal. The service this year was not up to par. Our room attendant ROCKED and so did some of the servers which knew me already. Other than that ... where were the servers walking around in the Spectrum or the Chorus Line or Boleros at times for that matter.
Why didn't the servers clear off the tables when they were overfilled with empty bottles and glasses? Why weren't the trash containers empty more frequently on the pool deck? Seriously, they were overfilled most of the time and people had no choice than to just leave them standing around.
Got it, Boleros was "smoke free" on one side - but of course this didn't last long and people used the metal cup holders or empty glasses and bottles - and when there was an ashtray it was so full since nobody emptied it. And dear god, don't even get me started on the women's bathrooms. WOW - during Overkill on the last day there was NO toilet paper to be even found and the bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned all day. Granted, girls can be sloppy, but in other years the restrooms were much cleaner.

Sorry guys, the service this year in general was really not like it was in prior years :-(

Everyone of the crew, included our attendant were quite nice and lovely, but even all my effort to obtain - after I sent a request to the special need at RC before the cruise - an extra step to go in the cabin's bathroom, I never had it I had it with no problem from the maintenance the last year, but this year, even if the attendant ask it several times, if I explained my need to the maintenance guy, nothing has been done I finally had to find the solution myself with all the risk of falling down I really need to book a cabin for the disabled people the next year, to not have to worried for that step once more

I count 32 cabins with wheelchair symbol on the Liberty deck plans, versus only four on Majesty, so it should be much easier for you to get one next year.
