A workshop on album art might be a good idea. Or maybe get someone who designs band logos to hold a workshop for death metal logo designing. Or on how to read them.

That would be great. There's a car in the neighborhood with a logo on the rear window that haven't been able to figure out after nearly three years. :?

Amen to that! If the credit card payments are going through Moneyboogers, I'm going to take the bank transfer option since UMC picks up the transfer fee. FUCK MONEYBOOKERS!!!!!

D.T. Metal wrote:The merch situation has been apparently an issue for all the cruises and I doubt it will change. I am pretty sure RC takes a cut as far as the merch sales go since why would it be charged to your board card anyways. So to do a pre-order type of thing, it would either have to go thru RC's site or thru UMC and I don't know what the logistics are on this one.

The cards and going through the system make the merch line go much faster, and more organised.
It'd be insanely difficult to manage bills, and making change for that many people. Not to mention, there's then no question of incorrect change etc.

Pre-ordering your cruise merch at time of booking is a good idea, and likely would not make much of a difference, if, in fact, RC does take a percentage/sales tax.

The most elegant way to sell merch:
put a tablet in every room
let people browse the merch gallery and select the stuff they want
let them pay with the onbroad account / credit card
get the merch delivered via room service

Some RC ships are already equipped with tablets, but I doubt they'll put them on Majesty that is goin' out of service soon.

Here's a fresh idea. Announce a complete lineup 6-7 months in advance (the way Maryland Deathfest does), so there's no guessing game. This aspect dives me crazy. The cruise is great, but as a customer, I want to know what I'm paying for.

That is never going to happen. Not with 40+ bands. As Andy has said in the past, some bands he has to book them almost a year in advance, and some bands won't book anything any more than a month in advance (like Venom).

You can always try one of the other cruises....... they have their lineups way earlier.

Which would you rather have? 10 shitty bands you KNOW will be there, or 40+ bands, and maybe you aren't sure who, but every year there has always been good bands. :headbanger:

I know. Wishful thinking. It's a big commitment for a band to spend a week out at sea. After 3x, I think fatigue is setting in and also the fact that BTH was the best lineup so far.
lol@other cruises. Like the KISS cruise? lol.

part of me kind of likes the excitement of the anticipation.. but then I get a reality check and wish I knew it all in advance as well - so I'm torn!

Either way - I am in love with this cruise and the poeple so all I want is for January not to take forever to get here :)

I really don't mind the announcement drought. It's almost impossible for me not to like at least half of any probable 70K line-up, so I know I'll be satisfied. It's also fun to bitch! :bitch: :bitch:

I do understand why some of the forumites (or some of the cruisers) want more announcements sooner. It's just not an issue for me. :bangers:

I do believe we won't have a drought as severe as last year's, though.

You can boogie during karaoke

That would work if we could limit the karaoke to only good songs by people who can vaguely sing... but in reality as soon as I start getting my drunken groove thang on somebody's going to get up and do "I Believe I Can Fly" - guaranteed

Or the violin guy does 8 songs in a row. Don't get me wrong, he's good but it takes up a huge chunk of karaoke time, when the wait times are already really long.

everybody's allowed to wear whatever they want (as long as it's not offensive or something) - but no official support for attention-whores, please
(no offense to the very very very few with really good/artistic costumes)

That should be all of karaoke! I'd rather see metalheads sing songs completely out of their element than see them fuck up classics that we all love.
I should get around to updating my signature
