You realize we've had 4 cruises. Each with 40+ bands with only a couple reapeats. That's almost 160 bands give or take. There is just no way we are going to be able to keep that up without either A) getting some repeats or B) getting some really obscure/crappy bands.

I'd much rather see repeats like Overkill and Death Angle than 90% of what's on Kevin's wish list. :P

Obviously but all 4 of the first announcement didn't have to be repeats. That's my only issue.

I'm 4/4 on that announcement. Aside from DT (who isn't touring the US much anymore) I've seen all those bands fairly recently in the U.S. Seeing Soilwork in a couple of weeks. Throw another 10-15 bands of that quality on there (I could care less about repeats) and I'll be going again. Still gonna wait until I find out what's up w/ Barge.

Or how about something new for 70K? Announce one of the bigger Christian metal bands - like Demon Hunter, Living Sacrifice, Believer or Tourniquet? :headbanger:

LOL thankfully he HASN'T cost me about $AU6500 .... yet.

    2 flights Bris-Mia-Bris = $3,000
    Fri/sat/sun Miami = $500 (food, lodging, booze for 2)
    2 berth cabin = $2,500
    merch/booze on broad = $500

Could dial back the costs a tiny bit, but hell if we are gonna do it at all we may as well splash out a bit :P But yeah, baseline it costs at least $3k for the flights, and at least $2k for the cruise itself for the two of us.

The first 4 are not bad, but it definitely doesn't have a wow factor for me to book anything. These are a higher quality of filler bands though.

    DARK TRANQUILITY!!!!

    I've never seen them live!

And I recently started listening to Death Angel. Not a huge Overkill fan, but I'd definitely watch a show or two. I've never heard of Soilwork, but I could watch them, I guess.

    Great announcement, skipper!
    70K 2013 SURVIVOR (Cabin 2120)
    70K 2014 SURVIVOR (Cabin 2565)

    In perpetual post-cruise depression/pre-cruise anxiety.

Doing my best to be there for 2015.

I think part of the reason I'm so underwhelmed by the initial announcement, is that (FOR ONCE!!) Australia has been really spoilt for choice with metal tours this year.

Last year the only gigs I went to in Australia were Amon Amarth, Apocalyptica and Ripper Owens.

This year, already seen Sabaton, Nightwish, Ensiferum and Lord, with tickets to see Epica, Eluveitie and Kamelot. And that is only in the first half of the year!!

Hence why I'm being a fussy fucker and will only be booking if I see Magnum/Van Canto/Powerwolf/Avantasia on the lineup :D

Although they're all repeats, they're bands (except DT) that I didn't know much of the first time and wrote them off. I walked into Overkill and Death Angel near the end of their sets, and wished I saw the whole thing. Definitely acceptable bands to rock out to whilst in the hot tub.

Hmmm. That discount is nice. Note that it doesn't apply to the tax, fuel surcharge, etc. fee.

I'm curious about this "GOLD Status present". It doesn't have the "If you book before Public Sales" caveat, so I would assume it would still apply for late registrations. I would also assume that what it is won't be known until booking is closed.
Never take anything I say seriously.

43 weeks until 70000TONS OF METAL, The World's Biggest Heavy Metal Cruise will once again depart for a Caribbean Dream Destination. That sounds like a symphony in our ears... SYMPHONY X
