The latest news from Florida is that the virus is present, same for Haiti. Bring your mosquito spray and condoms.

•No vaccine exists to prevent Zika.
•Prevent Zika by avoiding mosquito bites.
•Mosquitoes that spread Zika virus bite mostly during the daytime.
•Zika can be passed through sex from a person who has Zika to his or her sex partners. Condoms (and other barriers to protect against infection) can reduce the chance of getting Zika from sex.
•The Florida Department of Health has identified an area in one neighborhood of Miami where Zika is being spread by mosquitoes.

Thanks for the heads-up. Though really, you should bring your condoms to 70k ANYWAY. Not mentioned also is that, if a woman is pregnant and contracts Zika, there is chance the unborn child can become infected and have complications. So, if anyone is pregnant or thinking of getting pregnant, be extra careful.

This encouraged me to go back and finally check to see if they determined an incubation period for the virus, which they have. According to this New Zealand website (I'm Canadian, we don't have much to worry about for Zika here), it's 7-12 days. Which means you'll be infectious a little past the cruise, but it at least goes away quick enough that it won't impact you long term.

The good news is that if you're not pregnant, even if you do get zika it will most likely be only fever, conjunctivitis and some articular pain, and won't let you any sequels.

Who gives a fuck about Zika ? Seriously ? 95% of us will be so drunk it will ward off biting bugs and disease. Plus the fatality rate is like 1 percent for Zika virus. Its not an issue at all. I am not pregnant so I have zero concerns
