Who and who?!

Vio-Lence and Exhorder are starting a South American tour on February 2, the day we leave the boat. Does this put them as really likely, similar to what Kamelot did in 2023? Or unlikely due to the tight schedule?

Wasn't the first show of that Kamelot tour the night after 70K docked though? That's a big difference to the day of docking.

I really think day-of makes them more heavily on the unlikely side.

I think it's highly unlikely. Kyle isn't the kind of guy who's going to gamble on travel going completely smoothly and do a show night of docking. I think this eliminates Exhorder, Vio-lence, and Trouble by implication.

Also, I didn't post it here apparently, but Orphaned Land has a European tour that ends in Rotterdam on the night of January 28th, so they're also in the highly unlikely category, IMO.

THERION doing a one-off show with an orchestra on January 20th in Mexico.

Has to make them a possible for boat - they easily have the fanbase in that part of the world to do a couple of shows in the region before hopping on 70k.

Dimmu Borgir announced a second show - again, in Norway.

What are the chances for them coming to play on the boat? It's one of the most requested bands from the combined wishlists

Not sure on validity of this, but I've heard that Shagrath doesn't like boats, similar to Sharon from WT. I really hope to see Dimmu on boat one day (with the whole live orchestra, that would be sick). Wishful thinking I guess.

Pretty safe prediction, but I wouldn't be surprised if there were some sort of Nervosa/Crypta crossover. Probably Fernanda joining Nervosa for a song. That'd be neat.

Cirith Ungol just announced 2024 is their last year playing live

We've had Jarvis on in the past with Night Demon and he does a lot of booking work himself so there is the connection there and CU strikes me as the kind of band that Andy would love

Personally I could take them or leave them but I wouldn't be shocked given that festivals are great for farewell shows and most of the big 2024 festivals are already booked

Yeah, that first show is literally about 30 miles from the port. Although, if I'm being honest, I'd rather it be Charlie's other band coming back onbroad.

Request Andy to book Pantera & Orphaned Land, and make sure their timeslots are the same. That way everyone has a choice of which Abrahamic tenets to rep. Problem solved.

I know enough. Supporting bands who use their platform to promote hate speech is just as bad as having those beliefs yourself.

There's tens of thousands of bands out there who can deliver riffs without delivering hate.

Blackbraid 10000x yes. We definitely need some proper black metal on board and while it wasn't my thing when I saw them, they do put on a fun show and we've got plenty of "old standard" bands on board. Let's bring in some new blood.

Alright, I'm done derailing this thread. Myself and Cegr will never see eye to eye.

So here's a scoop that I gained over the past few months of chatting with bands that have played in the past. There is a band in the top 100 who was offered a slot that would line up with new album promo but due to logistical issues the album got pushed back and now the band has been slotted to "we'd love to have you play still so keep the dates open" instead of confirmed.

Maybe just don't bring up bands who use their platform for hate speech.

Racists are bad and so are the people who keep platforming them. It's a problem with metal that includes the fans, the bands, labels, promoters, venues, etc.

There's thousands of bands out there who are decent people and provide solid music. Let's book those instead

Saw the Pantera headlining show in San Diego. Was done in good taste and a great celebration to the fallen brothers.

That being said... Bands that I would love to see be a part of 2024's cruise.
