I'm listening to an the audiobooks of the series called, "Chivalry" by Christian Cameron. It's a historical fiction about the 100 years war, and knights. It follows the imagined life of an English boy (who really existed) as he strives to become a knight, and his struggles to become chivalrous. It's really enjoyable, and it's about a period of time that I knew almost nothing about. The first book is about part of the 100 years war between France and England, the peace after the French king's capture by English forces and the years when the English knights became highwaymen, then moves on to Italy. The second book is about the Sack of Alexandria and the Crusade of that time.
The first book is called, "The Ill-Made Knight" (which is also the name of a book by T.S. Lewis IIRC).
