I know at this point it's a bit of a foregone conclusion but there were a few Continental bands who were asked in that mad dash in the end run who had to say no but virtually all of them said "We can be 100% committed to playing next year if you want us". So if Andy is following true to his promises in the Thank You, I would say there's a strong chance Andy will book from them to fill out out the "filler" and "mid tier" bands

Ever since getting off the 2023 edition of 70k, members of Visions of Atlantis have been saying that their return year would probably be 2026 if all goes well. Since they are frequently booked, I would consider them to be quite probable for 2026.

Yeah, I think the main reason they weren't included in this year's "OH SHIT WE NEED BANDS" was because they've been touring pretty much non-stop since the album dropped. I've got some time with Caser during the upcoming NA tour and I'll have to make a note to include bring that up to see if it's changed since the tour they did around the same time last year.

I do know of at least three of the bands on the roster who have told Andy "Just give us the offer and we're there next year" and it's probably a lot more than those three.

I know Tägtgren has been teasing a return for a NA tour on this current promo cycle and starting/ending with the boat would be a very him thing to do.

Wow, that's some fertile 70k ground there for sure. Warbringer, Rotting Christ, Wilderun, Tyr, Sirenia, Orphaned Land, Jungle Rot, Batushka, Blood Red Throne, the list goes on. Would love to see Anaal Nathrakh, Enforcer, Evil Invaders, Hinayana & Into Eternity added from that roster.

Electric Call boy are finishing a European tour on January 25. So boat is a possibility, given that we always have a lot of requests for them.

Unfortunately I'm afraid they're too big for the boat.

I will be watching two shows of that tour, Barcelona and Madrid, right before travelling to Miami for the cruise.

Looking at post pandemic trends, Andy does seem to be willing to give up more of his line up to bands that ask for more provided they'll move Ticket sales. And EC moves tickets very well.

Combine that with more EU bands finally accepting that US/CA pays less but has enough live energy to make it worth it, I could see EC being open to an offer if Andy extends it.

I don't see it as likely for next boat though. EC tends to do a tour around their NA fests and they don't do back to back tours (a smart move).

Electric Callboy are way bigger than all the bands you're mentioning. They're not a boat band. I could give you a wide number of indicators and you would probably disagree with all of them, but it is what it is. As an example, they will be headlining Hellfest next summer along with bands such as Judas Priest, Linkin Park, Korn or Muse, higher in the lineup than other bands like Dream Theater, Epica, Till Lindemann, Airbourne, Satriani + Steve Vai or Savatage.

I could give you a wide number of indicators and you would probably disagree with all of them, but it is what it is. That's great and all but it's more important where the band is in the relevant market.

They get lower booking here than all of the bands we both mentioned, Aside from tiny slots at the larger metal/rock festivals they play (mid day, 30-40 min sets), here they play the 2-4K person venues and for guarantees well within the realm of a 45/60 minute band (one of their crew let it slip when we were chatting on the '23 NA tour). ESPECIALLY if they follow the trend of a lot of bands that take the smaller guarantee because it comes with a "free" cruise.

They very much could be a boat band. But you probably disagree with all of that anyways so here's the real crux of the issue.

BUT

The bigger roadblock is Andy. EC is... a love it or hate it band and the nearly 500 bands that Andy has booked in the over 2 decades of Boats, says that Andy is very likely to land on the "hate it" side.

And one of the other Metal boats here is more likely to extend the better offer and a lineup that fits them better. Plus they're not really hurting for a reach in this or any market so they don't really need that "exposure" that gets a lot of bands to consider the boat and its "United Nations at Sea"

It would be a dream to see EC play the boat. They would definitely bring a party to the pool deck. And there is for sure a demand for them as seen on the annual wishlists. However, they have gotten quite big in recent years. In 2023, when they played Montreal, they sold out a venue that Nightwish regularly plays at in 2 minutes of presale. The following year, they came back here and sold out an entire arena within a few days. The longer Andy waits to book them, the less likely it becomes. But my dream will still stay alive!

Oh dang, that is some good size blow up. The show here sold out in minutes too and definitely could've been moved to a larger venue if we had anything between that and the 8k person venue

I think if EC played, they would need to have a prime, near headlining spot. 70k doesn't usually give their top slots to fun party type bands. So, for that reason, among others, I don't think we will be seeing them.

Obituary announced a South American tour starting early February 2026, a few days after the boat. They are a survivor band. So maybe a possibility for next year.

I'm hoping Andy has Therion on his radar. Christofer J. has stated that, although they would not be doing any touring at all between now and (I think) 2029 , they WOULD be up for playing some special festivals or events. He specifically included 70K when I asked about it, too.
