They played MegaCruise and it was the funnest pool deck show I've ever witnessed. They were in the audience performing, invited people up on the stage, it was insane.
They always invite the audience on stage. Did. Used to. Before all that. Never will again.
Yeah I think it would take a mountain (king) of cash to get Jon to play 70k.Jotunheimr wrote: ↑Wed Jul 01, 2020 1:00 pm Savatage. One of my few remaining bucket listers. I hear Jon doesn’t like performing live that much anymore. Not to mention they headlined Wacken a few years ago so their guarantee is probably out of Andy’s price range.
Now THAT is pretty fucking funny. Fake-book 'em, Andy!
That sucks man. I've discovered that when there are bands that I haven't heard of before, or even bands that I don't like, I have to check them out. On 70k there are so many bands that I checked out that I thought, "I don't like these guys" going in, but ended up loving their live set. The opposite is also true. There've been a bunch of bands that I really liked on on disc, but I was really disappointed with live. So now, I try to hit as many shows as possible, because you never know.Dick wrote: ↑Wed Jul 08, 2020 2:30 am Isn't exactly on topic, but still kind of bothered me. Ne Obliviscaris played my first year on 70k, but I didn't know about them at the time and didn't go see them. Found out about them a year and a half later and was an instant fan. The name looked familiar, so I checked my previous 70k info and there they were. Since then, I take more chances and make an effort to check out more bands I've never heard of.
Enslaved's first show, in the ice rink, comes to mind. One of my favorite bands...and that show was terrible. The clean vocals were "pitchy" (being polite here) and it just wasn't good. I stuck it out for four songs, but most folks started bailing after two.
