A few people I know aren't ready because they just don't have the savings, they were aiming for early fall/later summer. So slightly less people will jump on booking right away, but it'll catch up. That's my guess, anyway.
I submitted my booking code right as the clock flipped to 11:00CDT and 4V double was already gone. So, requested our same cabin from 2023.
They haven't announced silver sales yet, but i imagine it'll be shortly after UMC catches up to all the gold bookings. Typically it takes about a week for all the gold sailors to get sorted, and then they can worry about silver.AverageMetalDrummer wrote: ↑Tue May 30, 2023 9:29 am As a Silver survivor, I’m getting a bit nervous. Does anyone know historically how soon after Gold sales open that the announce Silver sales? I’m sure it varies year to year.
Last year we had to wait for public sales but were still able to get a double balcony. We’re hoping to get a standard, but we may have to go for a spacious, if those will even be available.
For the past 2 cruises, they announced all dates for all 3 booking categories in one single post, and they were all mere days from one another. It looks like we are back to the days of old, where everything is starting (much) earlier, and they are rolling out the on sale dates one at a time. I would expect to at least have a date for silver sales by the end of this week.AverageMetalDrummer wrote: ↑Tue May 30, 2023 9:29 am As a Silver survivor, I’m getting a bit nervous. It comes down to location on the ship, distance to elevator, distance to noise factors (engines and stuff). Otherwise the rooms (size and amenities) are identical.sflheadbanger wrote: ↑Tue May 30, 2023 10:39 am Does anyone know what the difference is between the 4v, 3v, and 2v doubles? I see they're all the same size so why the price difference? We stayed in a 2v in 2023 (our 1 and only year) and it was fine for our needs but that was the cheapest available be the public booking so we're considering going cheaper if there's any left by the time Silver opens up.
Price difference is basically whether the cabin is capable of being a triple or quad. They have very few of them that are double only, so they want to make sure that they get a certain minimum for the cabins that are capable of holding more. 1V/2V are exactly the same cabin and 3V/4V are the exact same cabin. The only difference is location and the number of potential spaces. If you look at the deck plans, you'll see the difference. On Deck 2, for example, 1V/2V are midship and forward. 3V/4V are aft. On Deck 3, There are only a handful of 3V/4V forward, and there are 1V/2V forward and midship (MDR takes up all of aft).sflheadbanger wrote: ↑Tue May 30, 2023 10:39 am Does anyone know what the difference is between the 4v, 3v, and 2v doubles? I have seen a lot of people booking that didn’t go last year. Many of them had said they would have gone last year if booking didn’t start so late, so I honestly just think the earlier sales are bringing people out.
For a lot of people it really is not about the bands. As soon as they give the opportunity to book early enough so that one can organise all the rest in a timely manner, people will book... blindly.
Will anaylse to confirm but without looking I would say, yep :O
Compared to this point last year or entire last year? lol I think either is likely. I'm thinking there's a chance this round sells out by September.
Around this point last year there were 286 cabins in sold out categories so based on that alone we are almost 200 more compared to that.
I've never been on a cruise, before. So, I don't understand the numbers. Could you explain what they mean, please?cowboy71 wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2023 6:04 pm I THINK 2024 will sell out, but still a lot of uncertainty AND the prices are quite a bit higher so I guess we wait and see....

Basically its just our best estimate of how many cabins are available in each category, going up in capacity from left to right - double, triple, quad, etc.
You can request the same cabin as a previous year? Might have to do that if 2Vs are still availible when Silver starts.
Oh ok. Thank youcowboy71 wrote: ↑Tue May 30, 2023 1:50 pmBasically its just our best estimate of how many cabins are available in each category, going up in capacity from left to right - double, triple, quad, etc.
Taking this as an example:
Standard Interior 3V / ?? / 1 / 121 /
That is saying that from looking at the deck plans available on the 70K website, there is an unknown number of doubles (because they can 'scale up and scale down' a bit depending upon demand), 1 triple, and 121 quads.
Yeah, you can request same cabin, specific deck, etc. No guarantee you'll get it, but from what I've heard, they're pretty accommodating about same cabin requests.sflheadbanger wrote: ↑Tue May 30, 2023 2:13 pmYou can request the same cabin as a previous year? Yeah absolutely correct - there is a free-text field on the booking submission form. I wasn't as specific as requesting a certain CABIN, but the cabin type I was after had options on deck 2, and deck 6-10. I much rather deck 6 as its a nice location close to everything, and not a fan of being at the bottom of the ship. So I put in my request something along the lines of "I'd love a cabin on deck 6, but if unavailable anything OTHER than deck 2 and deck 2 only as a last resort'.toby wrote: ↑Tue May 30, 2023 2:20 pmYeah, you can request same cabin, specific deck, etc. No guarantee you'll get it, but from what I've heard, they're pretty accommodating about same cabin requests.sflheadbanger wrote: ↑Tue May 30, 2023 2:13 pmYou can request the same cabin as a previous year? Yeah, last round, I requested deck 2 specifically because my wife wanted to try a low deck (we've historically always had deck 9 or higher). So I just requested Deck 2. She doesn't want to ever do anything else, now, because of the near total darkness (which can be made even moreso with a towel at the bottom of the door).cowboy71 wrote: ↑Tue May 30, 2023 2:52 pmYeah absolutely correct - there is a free-text field on the booking submission form. And I got a cabin on deck 6 :)
I reckon you’ll be able to get a spacious balcony without too much issue.
I have another question. Is booking the cruise done individually, or by room? What I mean by that is do I pay for the entire room where other people are going to be there, or does everyone in the room book by themselves? My cousin, and my friend are going. Also, I'm a streamer on Twitch. Are we allowed to stream parts of it? Thank you in advance for your help.cowboy71 wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2023 6:04 pm I THINK 2024 will sell out, but still a lot of uncertainty AND the prices are quite a bit higher so I guess we wait and see....

If you are all in a cabin together, one person submits the request to book for the entire cabin. You do not pay until you have received a confirmation of booking from 70000tons. Once you have, you can submit payments in any way you please, until the amount due is paid off. You could pay the entire thing and have the others reimburse you, or you could each submit your own payments.LjlMetal wrote: ↑Tue May 30, 2023 5:11 pmI have another question. I don’t see why you couldn’t stream. People take videos as they please all of the time. You would just need to get an internet package through the cruise line.LjlMetal wrote: ↑Tue May 30, 2023 5:11 pmI have another question. Is booking the cruise done individually, or by room? The only issue with streaming might be the bandwidth. Download is pretty decent but upload is not extremely fast. The Internet is provided by SpaceX' Starlink.
